Royal + Motley = Greatness!!

Yesterday, I posted about Royal and how amazing it is. Today, I want to show you how I made Royal even more AWESOME!! I decided to add Finger Paints Motley on top of Royal and the combination is beautiful! I thought it would look nice,
but I was still stunned by how the flakie complimented Royal so beautifully!! (You may remember Motley from an earlier post.)

Take a look at the beauty that came from this combination:

I am in absolute love with this combination. I keep staring at my nails. It is nice to be able to achieve this look with just 2 polishes and anyone can do it. You don't have to be great at nail art to get cool looking nails!

Have you you tried something similar and were in awe? What do you think of the combination here?

Revlon Royal

I've had Revlon Royal for a little while now and I had yet to try it. I've been hearing great things about it and I was wondering what was taking me so long to try it out. I LOVE blues. I think you all know that by now, so I thought, why not just try it out and see for myself?

I loved this polish. It is blue, a jelly and easy to work with. This polish gave my no issues. The formula was amazing and the application was great. Royal wasn't too thick nor too thin. I applied it in 2 normal coats and there wasn't any VNL (visible nail line), until I took the pictures. Because Royal is a jelly there will be some sort of VNL, but it's not too obvious with the naked eye.

Check the photos below:

(Artificial light and no flash)
I wanted to get the best representation of the
true color of Royal.

(Natural light shot)
You can see VNL here, but it's not too bad.

Royal is a very nice blue that is between cobalt and navy blue. The color definitely depends on your lighting. If you don't have Royal, go get it NOW! It is a must have. Your highness doesn't disappoint!!

What do you think of this polish? Are you on your way to find it now?

Quick NOTD/ Memorial Day

Hey guys I'm doing a quick post today to show my Patriotic nails. I'm usually not one for nail art, but I was on twitter today and happen to see a post from Princess Polish. She did a "Dotticure" that was patriotic and beautiful. I loved it. I won dotting tools awhile ago and had only used them once. I decided to give this mani a go. Here's her mani.

Here's mine:

Happy Memorial Day!!

Similar, yet different. Although I like hers better, I do give myself a thumbs up! I'm not very good at nail art, but I liked this one.

I used Zoya Snow White, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blue It, Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamonds and Rubies.

What do you guys think?

Quick NOTD

I decided to bring a quick post today to show my NOTD (Nail Of The Day). I chose a neon, since I hadn't worn any this season. I decided on Sinful Colors Fusion Neon! It's a lovely pink NEON. (As a side note: I'll do a side by side of Fusion Neon and 24/7, but I'm pretty sure they are dead on. I'm not quite sure why Sinful Colors made these colors so close. We'll discuss that in a later post.)

The formula on Fusion Neon wasn't that great :-(. I was disappointed. I thought it would go on without problems. It went on a bit too thick and once I started to polish it developed bald spots on my nails. I absolutely hate when this happens. I had to let the first coat dry completely before applying the second coat or the bald spots would appear.

I'm overall, happy with the result, but during application I was getting frustrated. I had the difficult task of cleaning up afterward but, I think it turned out well.

Take a look:

(Natural light shade.)
Color is very neon pink in person.

(Natural light sun)
Again, the color is brighter in person.

What do you think of this color? Do you have it? Are neon colors your thing?

The New Black: Wave Ombre

Are you into Ombre manicures? I am and I never know what colors to choose when deciding to do an ombre manicure. I have attempted this feat many times and failed to follow through :-( Well, The New Black has come up with a little package that helps with this scenario. The Ombre we'll discuss here is called The Bank Holiday Weekend Ombre 5-Piece Nail Polish Set - Wave.

This Ombre set ranges from an aqua-turquoise to a minty green. The color translates very well from the bottle to the nail. My nails were vibrant and exciting due to the shimmer and metallic throughout this set. The formula is also done very well. There were no issues with application at all and the polishes dried fairly quickly. Just two thin coats and you're done!!

The New Black's lacquers are 4-free and Vegan-friendly!!

Take a look at the mani I did:

The beauty of this product is that you can choose
which color to put on each finger. You can also
mix it up each time.

Natural light shot here.
This reminds me of the Beach.

The Bank Holiday Weekend Ombre 5-Piece
 Nail Polish Set in Wave.

The New Black has several other Ombre manicrue sets to choose from.
You can find The New Black on PinterestFacebook and Tumblr. The New Black products are sold at Sephora

Candeo Colors: Glacier

We all know I'm a blue polish hoarder. Well, here's another blue polish. This one is from Candeo Colors and is called Glacier. Glacier has a blue base with tiny blue and silver glitter and bigger blue and silver hex glitter. It's very water like and it's very beautiful. Glacier's application was great. This formula was the perfect consistency and it applied with no problems.

Check out these pictures of Glacier:

(light no flash)
I know this picture is a little dark, but I wanted to
be able to show you the goodness in this polish and
the flash was washing it out.

Up close and personal! I love it!!

Candeo Colors can be found here and has several different polishes to choose from. Candeo Colors is another indie polish that gets lots of rave for the great glitters and color combinations! Check them out on Facebook!

Do you have any polishes from Candeo Colors?

Pretty & Polished: Beach Bum

Beach Bum is a Polish from the indie make Pretty & Polished. According to Pretty & Polished Beach Bum is, "hunky blue polish. It is packed with blue glitters and has some gorgeous greens throw in! Look for the oh so daring blue square glitter as well!"

Beach Bum is so pretty. I love it. I'm not to sure about the application. I like how it has a jelly base, but it was hard to polish in thin layers. You have to pack on the polish which makes for a long dry time between coats.

I believe this is a 3-4 coater by itself. You may be able to minimize the coats by adding a blue base color. I love this polish though! I don't think I can say that enough! I loved the ocean-y feel to it. It makes me wanna take a swim :-) This is a genius creation! I'm a blue polish hoarder and I knew I needed this.

Judge for yourself:

(artificial Light no flash)
This is pretty much the true to life color. I think a
base color would have made it appear a lot more solid
and less speckled-looking.

All pictures are 3 coats.

Beauty Shot! :-)

What do you think of Beach Bum? Do you have it?

PuppyTooth...

303 Puppytooth is the name of the Pedicure Salon Effects Real Nail Poilish Strips I used today. I have never used Salon Effects or any of the other nail appliques out there. This being my first time I read the directions several times before I began. I didn't want to mess these up, LOL. More on that later :-(

With each package of Salon Effects you will receive a small directions pamphlet, I small file/buffer and a wooden stick to push back cuticles. I won't give you the step by step instructions because it'll be included in the package. BUT I will say please remember to remove the clear plastic cover on the front AND the backing from the strip. I totally was doing it wrong for two nails and then I re-read the directions. Silly me.

Once I started doing it the correct way everything went smoothly. I can honestly say I love this pedicure. I really think this is going to be a staple for me. I will find more of the Pedicure Salon Effects and use these throughout the summer, especially during my summer vacation! I don't change my toe nails as often as my fingers nails.Since this should last 14 days, I should be a happy camper!

I don't usually show my feet on here, but for this purpose I will post one picture.

You should be able to find these at you local drug store! Like Sally Hansen on Facebook for up to date information.

Soft Landings Towels

Kathy WeltmanSoft Landings is a company that specializes in towels. This, I know, is unconventional for what we discuss here, but give me a second and you'll see why I'm bringing this company to you.

Soft Landings Towels sent me a couple different towels. They sent some 4x4 and a 16x18 towel. These towels are very very soft. They can be used for cleaning nail art brushes, using in place of a paper towel while doing nails or simply for removing polish from your nails.

I used these towels to remove polish from my nails. OMG! I'm just going to let you guys know that I used ONE 4x4 towel to remove nail polish from all ten nails!! I was amazed. These towels are absorbent and don't leave strands on you nails like the cotton ball does. I was impressed. When I removed the polish I did have to put remover on the towel a couple of time, but I only used one towel and it worked great!

4x4 towel
(Example of what I used to remove polish from 10 nails)

Soft Landings it is "the towel you deserve." It's, "Adsorbent and lint-free, traps acrylic dust, great for facials and waxing, soft to touch, looks and feels professional and 100% contamination free."

16x18 towel
(great for cleaning brushes, drying hands or
 using while polishing nails)

You can order on the Website and like on Facebook!

These are such a great alternative to using paper towels and cotton balls. Give them a try I'm so glad I did. ;-)

Gem Crush anyone?

Everyone seems to be in love with glitter nails these days. I'm no exception ;-) Sally Hansen has a glitter line called Gem Crush. These polishes are jammed packed with glitter and sparkle goodness. The glitter in Gem Crush is tiny glitter shimmers that makes your nails amazingly beautiful.

According to Sally Hansen, Gem Crush nail color is, "instant glam with finger-to-toe bling. This innovative full coverage glitter formula turns nails into jewelry that stays on wherever you go."

I can't disagree with this statement because these Gem Crush polishes are so shimmery and sparkly it draws
a lot of attention to the nail. I love them. There are three that I'll discuss today: Razzle DazzlerBig Money and Glitz Gal.

We'll start with Razzle Dazzler:

Razzle Dazzler is a fun coppery-pink shimmer with accents of slightly bigger silver glitters throughout. This polish is very pretty and applied very well. It has that thick flat spatula brush that makes applying polish SUPER easy. I'm in love with those brushes.

This polish covered well in one coat:

I felt that even though it looks great here with one coat two coats was better coverage and it looked a lot better.

This is two coats and no flash. I tried to capture the true color of Razzle Dazzler. This is gorgeous!! Check out that Bling!

I added The Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat. It added a better shine and it dried very fast!! After two coats of this top coat it actually allowed for a smooth finish instead of the chunky glitter finish.

Next up is Big Money.

When you hear Big Money you think of Green, right? Well no this isn't green. Big Money is more if a gold-purpley shimmer mix. It's pretty, but I was disappointed to see that Big Money didn't have the same brush as Razzle Dazzler. The brush on this one is just a regular skinny flimsy brush. This brush made it hard to get the polish of the nails flawlessly :-(. I was a bit upset with that. I also don't care for this color combination. It's pretty, but not for me. For some reason, golden polishes don't compliment my skin-tone.

(Artificial light and no flash)

(flash only)

(flash only)

Finally, my fave Glitz Gal.

Glitz Gal is a dark grey shimmer with silver holo glitters throughout. The silver glitters changes to a rainbow of colors depending how you're looking at the polish. It is gorgeous. I'm such a sucker for these types of polishes.

This one, unfortunately, had the same brush as Big Money and I hated it!! It makes for a tedious clean up and with glitters that can be very hard to do. *sigh*

I can't say any more I just want you to see :-) (Maybe a little blurry because I wanted to show the rainbow glitters)

Love, Love Love this polish. There is one more thing, Glitz Gal is just like Wet n Wild's ColorIcon Diamond In the Rough.

What do you think of the Gem Crush polishes by Sally Hansen? Must have? Don't forget to share your opinions below.

365 Days of Color review

I'm Bringing you the first Collection of polishes from Sanaz at 365 Days or Color. She has 5 Polishes in this collection: Funfetti, Cotton Candy, Summer Dream, Explosion and Old Time Movie. I've already showed you guys Old Time Movie HERE.

The first one we'll discuss is Summer Dream. Summer Dream is a milky light blue base color with smaller hex, bar and regular glitter in a rainbow of colors. This is a very summery color. It make you think of the ocean. I love it. The formula was a great one and the application was smooth. I have nothing bad to say about this one.

Summer Dream:

(Natural Light)

(Artificial Light)

The Second one I want to tell you guys about is Funfetti! The name is just so cute and fun to say. I fell in love with this one. It applied so smoothly in two coats and was gorgeous!! I love this one... I think I said that already!! ;-) Take a look for yourself.

Funfetti:

Funfetti has a white pearl base and colorful glitter throughout. It's so light and beautiful. It has a elegant, yet fun look!

Cotton Candy is up next! Cotton candy is a white base slightly darker white than Funfetti. Maybe I should say that Candy Candy is a little more opaque than Funfetti.

It has Blue and Pink hex glitters throughout. It looks so beautiful in the bottle and I really wanted that to translate onto my nail. Since the white is very opaque in 2 coats the glitters got lost when applied to the nail :-(. Cotton Candy didn't have a smooth application like the rest of the collection. You have to make sure you let the first coat completely dry before applying a second coat. The formula makes it a little difficult.

I'd still wear this polish although it is a little difficult to work with, I like it!!

Cotton Candy:

so pretty!!

The last polish of the collection is Explosion! Explosion is quite unique. She adds an assortment of colors of glitters with different shapes and sizes. With one stroke you get tons of glitter on the brush. You can layer this as a top coat if you like. I decided to show you guys the way it looks with no base color and I really like it!

Explosion:
Love in a bottle!!

(Artificial light and flash)

(flash no light)

This is the first Collection from 365 Days Of Color. She will be opening again on May 16th with her new collection, but you will still be able to pick up these goodies. She'll open up on Big Cartel. To get more information visit her website or Facebook.

What is a must have for you from the above collection?
