Face: Washing Routine?

Hello Beauties,

Today, I have a post about face washing routines and to ask for some type of help. As many of you know, I am 6 months postpartum, I've never really had acne issues, but thing have changed. I am having a terrible time with getting my acne free face back after having my baby boy. My guess is that my break outs are hormonal. I never had a face wash routine. I confess, I would just wash my face with water and throw on some Nivea cream and call it a day. I didn't have acne or anything, but now UGH! I need some help.

I bought some Aveeno ultra-calming foaming cleanser and Ponds Dry Skin Cream. I wash my face in the shower with the Aveeno ultra-calming foaming cleanser , I dry it and I apply the Ponds Dry Skin Cream.  I have been using this duo for a couple of month now, but I don't really see any changes. I do like the Ponds Dry Skin Cream. It moisturizes my face and doesn't leave a heavy weighed down feeling.  I'm thinking I may need to invest in a facial brush, like an Olay or Clarisonic brush . Any suggestions or any help would be appreciated.

I received these Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes evening soothe with chamomile & white tea as a sample and I fell in love. I don't wear makeup that often, but when I do, removing it is a breeze with these wipes! They even remove waterproof mascara without burning my eyes! I have always just removed any makeup with a wash cloth, soap and water. These cloths are thick, have a lovely smell and work very well. If you haven't tried these, I would suggest you try them!

If you have any suggestions for a face cleanser, face brush or moisturizer please leave it in the comments or email me tallgirlinheels@gmail.com. I'm open for suggestions.

  1. I swear by St. Ives Apricot Scrub (the one that says blemish control). Anytime I have problems with acne, I wash with it (only at night before bed). Within a week, I am back to normal. I've struggled with acne a few times in my adult life and it really stinks. You can also try spot treating with peroxide - it's harsh, but it kills the bacteria causing the acne. Again, I would only do this at night. If it doesn't clear up on it's own within 6 months, maybe visit a dermatologist. Good luck!
